For example, I would get one that didn’t necessarily look good when opening it, but that one in particular was a good fit for the rest of the bunch. But it would still throw an error at me, saying that a layer was too complex. Here, they are treated with the same degree of caution and speed that I try to incorporate into all important projects. You would typically apply such a feature with photographs or paintings, but the technology offers much more versatility, and I would assume that it might also prove useful in video editing, especially Audiomotion. However, it creates a few problems. It requires detailed guidance so that you can understand where the tool is going to move next. You also have to physically “dive in,” and mark up, the part of the photograph you want to edit, well before it is being updated in real-time.

It will take a bit of learning to get comfortable editing in such a fashion (especially if you are used to a tablet, as I am), but the payoff is amazing. I can’t think of a better way to speed things up and give a more responsive editing experience than with Tap & Go. It will give you a full understanding of how different tweaks will work, something that is very hard to do with saving time. And, at least with my iPad Pro, using Live Paint feels a lot more natural than using the app’s Highlight Brush. I just love that I can now exhibit some really cool artwork and can instantly update the changes in real-time. In fact, it was so much easier to mark up a scene with Tap & Go than with Photoshop’s version, that I would think that Live Paint is a must-have feature. Perhaps it is a sign that we have gone too far in digitizing the creative process, anyone way of mark-up should work, whether it is an artist or a photo editor. I am also not sure that it is absolutely necessary to work in such small detail as it is with Live Paint. In fact, I think that creative ideas will not be affected by minor details, but they might be disturbed by the fact that I had to put more energy into executing ideas. What I mean is that with a standard paintbrush it feels a lot more natural to throw some brush marks around a painting, and I believe that a basic sketch or some random marks will work just fine. I can imagine that with the Pencil, however, the overall feel of the image may be different. At any rate, it’s one of the most interesting features that can be added to a mobile application.

I’ll upgrade to [Adobe Photoshop CC 2018] from [Adobe Photoshop CC 2017]. Why? Because [Adobe Photoshop CC 2017] is buggy. It keeps crashing or says “Create PDF” or “Scripting Error… create PDF” and “Scripting Error… create PDF”, etc. I can’t even open the software. Every time I open [Adobe Photoshop CC 2017], it says “Creating PDF”, and after that, it crashes. It doesn’t give me an error information or anything. And when the crash happens, there’s no way to recover the data that I’ve been working on. I’ve to retake everything from the beginning….

Adobe’s in-depth knowledge on user interface and features would be an unbeatable combination. Unfortunately, they don’t have the graphic design knowledge on this subject. Adobe is good on compiling and releasing courses, and has been doing well in this regard. Hopefully, the skills held in the “User Interface Design” course can be translated and put in other courses. For instance, I hope that effects will be OK on the Mac and that Adobe can finish updating software and update their course on it. And the “Adobe After Effects” should include Mac and OS X-specific information.

Lightroom makes the most of the new (and old) hardware. Apple continues to innovate at the hardware level with the 2017 MacBook Pro and 2016 XPS 13. I use the latter for portable design and the latter for general use. Both not only feel nice to hold thanks to well-thought-out ergonomics but they’re also fairly light—and, therefore, easier to carry around. I can use the XPS, for example, in bed, and, at the very limit, take it outside to sketch or paint. Both machines offer new choices from Apple’s long-established line of MacBooks. The new MacBook Pro, with its optional Razer Blade or 12-inch Razer Blade Pro fans, is the first all-new Pros since the very popular 15-inch model of 2007. Apple has refreshed the MacBook Air over the years, and it’s great to see them innovate again. Now they offer the 16-inch model, too. Lastly, the MacBook Air manages to remain a compact model, rather than growing even larger and heavier. These are generally more portable laptops than even the previous MacBook 13 model.

Lightroom’s speed improvements in the latest version are actually more noticeable on one of my desktop workstations. The power behind the new MacBook Pro’s graphics card is hard to ignore, and the result is hewing better to Adobe’s System Requirements spec sheet. On that basis, I tested Lightroom with the test images within the same environment. Again I simply plugged the app into my power and booted up. This time, Lightroom 5 loaded in 10 seconds and resume was just 2.2 seconds. Everything from catalog opening through to batch exporting. I also scripted and timed this process in segments.

Another way to update a computer is to move over to a Mac, however, this was absurd before I purchased a Macbook Pro a few years ago. At that time, Macbooks were only available for purchase online and the prices for these are beyond ridiculous if you do not have the budget. Now that the Macbooks are available in stores, they have amazing pricing and offers if you are looking to upgrade your computer.

Photoshop has taken up space on the hard drive (you should always make sure to uninstall anything you are not using before backing up and upgrading; it is a lot easier to do these things before upgrading. This will not only keep your computer from getting slower but will give you room for new programs to install and update to keep everything on your computer up to date.

While I may seem like a HUGE fan of Photoshop when in reality I use other graphic design software as well. I am a photographer first and my passion is coding and creating different websites and apps. While I do enjoy using Photoshop to edit my photos I use other programs to create or edit my websites.

If you read this, you’re probably one of those people out there that refuse to change. You use what you’ve always used, and the only things you’ve changed are the software’s service and upgrade prices. If you’re the type of person that wants to upgrade every 6 months or so, that’s fine. Just understand that you’re going to have to live with it. Even Windows 7 completely sucks. Don’t think you can’t do real-time updates. All it takes is the internet, and that’s even more available now. It’s not that hard. Join the Goldre2p Facebook group.

You should be able to rest easy knowing that every once in a while, Adobe will refresh its operating systems and detect they’ve been in hibernation, but always reboots if it’s running the old version. If you’re a Mac user, you probably know all of this already.

Long gone are the days when Photoshop’s single window workflow provided adequate screen real estate for the kind of work you did. Accompanying the return of more window space to Photoshop was a new user interface style. The new workflow is called “photoshop big.” In this insanely large modeling environment, you’re presented with a single tabbed file browser and everything you do is reflected in that single window. Working offline, you can get the latest versions of Lightroom, the new version of Affinity Photo (version 3.2), and Pages and its typography settings all in one location, so you don’t have to sync any of that data between your devices. Just log on to your PC, tell it which apps you’re looking to update, and it’ll do the rest.
